Summers end

( CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO ENLARGE IT)...a beautiful time of the year !  The bird's and other animals are getting ready for the change..this little one is feasting on the berries of the Sargent crab that was my wonderful treat to watch..(I don't live there anymore, I'm hoping the new owners get to enjoy watching the birds in this tree.  It brought so much pleasure to me over the years.)

Some of us may be sad that summer is gone!  But look forward to the beauty of the changing colors and cool evenings fall brings. No more heated and humid days..just cool breezes and glorious colors and the harvest is ready to be taken in.

Family vacations are over until next year..Children are back to school. Cottages are closed for til next season.  It's a time of change for all living creatures and all of nature..Embrace it and enjoy these days.

The years pass so swiftly, take time to enjoy each passing season and the gifts it holds.

An old german quote..."so soon ve grow old, and so late ve grow schmart'

And YES..we're another year older !!!

 As Lee Meriwether said

(from the book 'Coming of age gracefully')

" Age is a quality of mind;

  If you have left your dreams behind;

  If  hope is lost;

  If you no longer look ahead;

  If your ambitions are dead;

You are OLD.

BUT,  if from life you take the best;

   If in life you keep the jest,

   If love you hold,

   No matter how the year's go by,

   No matter how the birthdays  fly,

You are not OLD !!!

Just as the seasons change so do we all !  We move forward..

"We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it"

..Martin Luther

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom"

   Psalm 90:12 NIV

"For everything, there is a season...Ecclesiastes 3:1

"This is the day the lord has made , let us rejoice and be glad in it"

Psalm 118:24
