Your no Spring Chicken !

Maxine usually has words of wisdom / tounge in cheek !

If I read the Word of God correctly, it is forgiveness that makes old age the golden age.  You know you are getting old when you attend more funerals than you do weddings..( the following excerpts are by Oswald C.J.Hoffman from the book "Coming of Age Gracefully")

We all have experiences we regret.  It's been said, "Regret is the stuff of which life is made."  One who has no regrets has not lived at all.

Age remids people of things they did when they did not really know what they were doing. There is no doubt about the problems of age.  If we keep humor and laughter as our daily dose of living..we really live !

Take these next quotes as your daily prescription for laughter !(from Ed Fischer's book 'Your No Spring Chicken"..

"When you get older it takes a lot longer to do nothing."  Catharine Brandt

"If I had my life to live over again I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner". Tallulah Bankhead

You know your're getting old when... Your head makes promises your body can't possibly keep...

"Youth is a gift of nature, but age is a work of art.."  Garson Kanin

Wrinkles are hereditary.  You get them from your kids.

"Happiness is good health and a bad memory."  Ingrid Bergman

"First you are young; then you are middle-aged; then you are old; then you are wonderful."  Lady Diana Cooper (From the book"Gallimaufry to Go" by J. Bryan, 111

Where there is humor there is hope.! It takes less facial muscles to smile than frown..

As we age, we learn to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life.  To see humor in the things that surround us. Maybe it's that we come to realize that we can't afford to take life - or ourselves - too seriously. That life trulyis too short.

The healthiest thing you can do is feel GOOD about yourself. Oscar Wilde said " Be yourself..everyone else is taken !"

"Rejoice inthe Lord always,I will sa it again : Rejoice !" Phillippians 4:4
