No cards this year???

It really is the thought that counts !

(click on the picture to enlarge, one of the cards I shared.)

It makes me sad to read on facebook over and over again...NO CARDS THIS YEAR...WHY???  Is it the expense? or is it because we "can't be bothered"..too busy to put a few personal words of cheer in a card ??Many of the Christmas greetings on facebook are lovely...but...?

Have you noticed the kids, young adults and adults, sitting across from each other in a restaurant, or at home or anyplace for that audible conversations..just fingers moving madly over the phone screen !!!

This worries me, what happened to the art of conversation..Because of our new technology, facebook, so called social media..we are becoming non verbal's a cold world out there..we need to put some warm loving words on paper..don't just send an email or a facebooki note..send a card or ...CALL...

I still send or give cards out and not just to the out of towner's

I was so pleased to recieve cards from my new neighbors in my apartment building, we have a magnet clip outside our doors to clip a card or other information to share.

..I love receiveing a card and marvel at the creative artwork and the lovely verse..that someone picked out or wrote just for me .

Thank you cousin Judi for that beautiful creative card ! I love that she shares her talent with me.

It makes me feel closer and special to the one that sent it..  I want the people I send cards to feel my interest and affection for them too.

On another note, regarding modern technology...I love to read and will not read my favorite books on a tablet or whatever device is most popular now..I want to turn the pages and feel the writers emotions..also..staring at a screen for even 20 minutes would give me a head ache and will take it's toll on eyesight..If I fall asleep before putting in my bookmark to hold my place, it allows me to review the page or so before continuing the story, and it brings the story situation to life again.

These are my laments and my concerns for the future of our 'bookless children' that spend too much time texting, etc. instead of TALKING TO EACH OTHER..  Does it concern you "  it should!

MERRY CHRISTMAS..(I may have sent many of you a card, hope you liked it)

"This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it "  Psallm 118:24
