THANKSGIVING....A DAY TO REFLECT .
Glory and praise to our God, who alone gives light to our days. Many are the blessings he bears to those who trust in his ways.
I'm quoting from a hymn I recently heard in a church I attended with my nephew, while I was visiting him in Florida this October. It reminded me of all the things I can be grateful for !! FAMILY, FRIENDS, most of all his mercy and love !
I'll continue the verses from the song ...you may agree in how blessed we are!
We, the daughters and sons of him who built the valleys and plains, praise the wonders our God has done in everyheart that sings.
In his wisdom he strengthens us, like gold that's tested in
fire. Though the power of sin prevails, our God is there to save.
Every moment of every day our God is waiting to save, always ready to seek the lost, to answer those who pray.
God has watered our baren land and sent his merciful rain.
Now the rivers of life run full for any one to drink.
This has been a very
hard year for many of us..the election process was very difficult, the unrest and unlawfulness that has gone on and is still going on is hard on everyone.
It's time to stop and reflect on our blessings..! This is the greatest nation in the world, our freedom to agree or disagree, to worship, to enjoy the beauty of this land, to persue a dream in business etc. is
so special..where else in the world can you say you can enjoy these wonderful resources.
I'm reminded that
we must not lose heart, Our God is still on the throne and as the scripture tells us in Chronicals 7:14...
New International Version
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and
I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.."
This message should be given to everyone ! The answer now to quiet the unrest and enjoy the
blessings we have as American Citizens...Let us all humble ourselves and pray...so that our God will bless this land once again as he has in the past.
Give thanks and be joyful!
For many of us, we have older family members who have reached the last of their golden years. Take the time to
appreciate them, revel in their longevity and tenacity, their stories and how their strength shaped who we are today! Slow down, put away your cell phone, and ask these golden treasures in your life questions like… “what was it like?”…
“can you tell me about?”… “what was grandma like when she was my age?” Time is fleeting, so seize the moment and be close to those who will appreciate it the most.
"This is the day the Lord has made, I shall rejoice and be glad in it" Psalm 118:22
HAVE A HAPPY AND BLESSED THANKSGIVING
“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever. Let Israel say: ‘His love endures forever.’”
give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”
