Hair loss can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or medications. Anyone can experience hair loss.
Baldness refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp, rather than the normal loss of hair that everyone
experiences every day. Hereditary hair loss with age is the most common cause of baldness. Some people prefer to embrace their baldness and don’t worry about hiding it at all. Others cover it up with hairstyles, wigs, toupees, makeup, hats or scarves.
And still others choose invasive treatments or medications to prevent further hair loss and to restore growth.

Black cumin seed oil comes from the Nigella sativa seed and has a history of
being used to treat thinning hair and baldness.
Black cumin seed oil is used by people around the world to stop or slow hair loss. Some people also use it to reverse the symptoms of balding.

What the science says…
In 2013, there was a study conducted at the University
of Rome on the effects of black cumin seed oil on a type of hair loss called telogen effluvium. Telogen effluvium is a scalp disorder that causes hair to thin or to shed. In the study, 20 women between 20 and 50 years old were divided into
All twenty women had severe hair loss.
Ten of the women used a topical scalp treatment that contained black cumin seed oil and the other ten women used a treatment that had no black cumin seed oil in it whatsoever. All twenty
were checked at three-month and six-month intervals.
After three months, 90% of the experimental group experienced significant growth and thickening of their hair, while only 30% of the control group had the same experience. After six months, half of
the experimental group was still showing improvement in both hair density and growth. In the control group, on the other hand, sixty percent of the women were still losing significant amounts of hair.
The active ingredients thymoquinone, dythymoquinone,
thymol and thymohydroquinone all worked together to help lessen inflammation, clear any fungal or bacterial imbalances, and heal the root causes of the women’s hair-loss problems.

Condition and Cure
Black cumin seed oil is full of potent properties
that have amazing benefits for your hair and scalp (whether you have hair or not). The seed’s oil actually acts as a natural moisturizer that rids your hair and scalp of dryness. The oil lubricates and protects the outside layer of your hair and the
scalp with its rich fatty acids as well as amino acids. Effectively lubricating the scalp can often resolve issues like psoriasis and eczema that can cause flaking and dandruff. Black cumin seed oil is rich in antioxidants which can fight off free radicals
that can damage your hair and your scalp from the inside.
Black cumin seed oil has a number of active ingredients that make it incredibly powerful as a topical treatment for dandruff. Thymoquinone, dythymoquinone, thymol, and thymohydroquinone are antibiotic,
antifungal and anti-inflammatory, among other things. Dandruff is often caused by fungus, when it’s not connected to psoriasis, eczema or other dry-skin conditions, so the anti-fungal components of black cumin can resolve those dandruff cases too.
The Long and Short of It
If you’re trying to get your hair to grow longer and are getting frustrated with split ends or you’re finding that your hair just won’t grow past a certain length, black cumin oil helps
stimulate hair growth and helps minimize split ends. The fatty and amino acids in the oil can provide a protective layer to the hair itself, which protects the strands and prevents them from splitting. Not only can you seal up existing split ends, but you’ll
help prevent new ones.
We are not fully sure how black cumin seed oil helps to bring back the color in hair that has turned gray, but there are stories across the Internet about people who have successfully used
it for this very purpose.

More Than Just a Georgeous Head of Hair
