Stations of the Cross

PALM SUNDAY.. TO DAY IS THE START OF PASSION WEEK..

The suffering of our Savior before the crusifixion

The photo's show the station of the cross and what our dear lord went through on his way to Calvary.

On Sunday, April 16, 2017 we will be celebrating our risen Savior.

But before we celebrate lets take the time to meditate on His sacrifice for us.

Thanks be to God!  He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

                                                                                             ~ 1 Corinthians 15:57

God's Blessings on you and your family...HAPPY AND JOYOUS EASTER.

I took these photo's in St. John, IN. The stations of the cross done in beautiful full size bronze statues...

This experience was moving to say the least...each statue, showed the agony of Christs sacrifice...and of course the joyful resurrection..

Easter..a time to celebrate the utmost gift !... Plan to spend that joy with your family and your church family. Invite a neighbor or friend to join you.

Here are some quotes and scriptures celebrating the Easter season.

...Christ lives ..Christ is risen! Hallelujah!...Christ's resurrection floods our lives with hope and joy....

"The angel said..."He is not here; he has risen, just as He said."--Matthew 28:5

"Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ"..1 Corinthians 15:57

"Christ Jesus...has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel....2 Timothy 1:10

May God richly bless you and keep you today and always !

Palm Sunday

"Stations of the Cross" in St. John, In.

The beginning of Holy Week....Christ rode the donkey into Jerusalem , the crowds greeted him, shouting, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord"  spreading clothing on the road, others cut down leafy branches and spread them on the road.

How sad He must have been knowing this same crowd cheering wonderful greetings to him would soon be calling for his death!.  And how did those same people feel about what they did after they realized He was the Messiah sent to save them.

The following excerpts are from the publication "Our Daily Word".

Jesus has invited us to bring our burdens to Him..."Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" ~Matthew 11:28

He knows we are not built to bear burdens alone.  When we cast them on the One who wants to bear our burdens (Psalm 68:19 ; 1 Peter 5:7) He replaces them with forgiveness, healing, and restoration.  No burden is too heavy for Him - (Cindy Hess kasper)

Lord, thank you for lovingly carrying our burdens.  In times of trouble, help us to leave those burdens in Your strong hands and to find our rest in You..

This is a week to think about the ultimate sacrifice..."He paid the Price"..for us !

On trial before Pilot...

The trial ...do we remember and think about what it was all for!  Why was this allowed to happen?  What was the reason God sent his only son here to be crucified and die !!!

The crowd freed the criminal Barabas and Jesus was sentenced to be crucified...The soldiers beat him until he was hardly recognizable...then He was made to carry his cross ..

He was nailed to a cross...the pain and agony he suffered can be seen in this photo...
He suffered and died...for us! His last words were "It is Finished"! The work God the Father sent him here to do was completed. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16 ..A new covenant with the Lord was made..... Believe in Christ Jesus for our salvation..He took the sins of the world upon Himself, that we may have life everlasting.. Jesus said..."I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me..." John 14:6 "
The tomb is empty.....He has risen indeed!...Praise the Lord!! May your Easter shine bright with lasting hope and happiness. All these photo's were taken of the Stations of the Cross, in St.John, Ind. 2012 during an Honor Society trip from Victory International Fellowship
He has risen, He is alive and sits at the right hand of the Father !!! Hallelujah...Have a joyous and Blessed Easter..tell someone how much you love them...and how much Jesus loves us all !

This Easter, may you know Mary's thrill at hearing the words:

"He is not here.  He is risen!

Priase be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

                                                                                                        1 Peter 1:3

At Easter and always may the anniouncement "He lives" fill your heart with Joy !

Love in Christ...Geri
